Sara Bond, D.D.S.

Sara Bond, DDS Dr. Sara Bond graduated from University of Detroit Mercy School of Dentistry in 2003 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). After graduating in the top 3% of her class, she joined the United States Air Force as a Captain and provided dental care for active duty troops for three years.

She first completed a one-year Advanced Education in General Dentisty Residency at Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was then stationed at Whiteman Air Force Base in Knob Noster, MO - otherwise known as "Home of the B-2 Stealth Bomber." Her distinguished honors at Whiteman included Company Grade Officer of the Quarter and recipient of the Air Force Achievement Medal. She also served as the Preventive Dentistry Officer for two years, writing dental-related articles for the base newspaper and coordinating outreach events aimed at helping children.

In 2006 she returned home to Michigan and worked with a prosthodontist in Ypsilanti for one year. For four years she worked at a federal public health clinic providing dental care to the underserved population in Lenawee County.

Dr. Bond joined our practice in February 2012. She has a special interest in providing dental care to infants and children, and is devoted to making their experiences enjoyable. She is also interested in preventive dentistry and oral surgical procedures (extractions). Dr. Bond strives to make every patient at-ease and aims to make each appointment relaxing and comfortable.

She is a member of the American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and Washtenaw District Dental Society. She is also a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society, and was a member of Psi Omega Dental Fraternity. She served on the Health Advisory Committee of Lenawee County for four years and worked closely with Head Start to provide a Dental Home to children with limited access to care.

She currently lives in Ann Arbor with her husband, Erik, a professor of Restoration and Eighteenth-Century English Literature at University of Michigan - Dearborn, her two-year-old daughter, Lucy, and their juggle (Jack Russell, Beagle, Pug), Teddy. Dr. Bond enjoys fishing, physical fitness, dog-walking, cooking, reading, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her family.
